THEN JESUS SAID…

by | Jan 27, 2014 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

There have been moments in my life where the pressures of life, work, family, and ministry crash down on me. It can be difficult to press forward. I easily get discouraged. disoriented. disappointed. I am sure that you can relate.

I have heard many people say, all you need is one word from God, and you can make it through anything… Yeah, I guess that’s true. However, I feel that I am most comforted through those old “red letters” — those words that Jesus spoke Himself.

Anytime you need inspiration to make it, just remember… “Then Jesus said…”

Here are my top 10 favorite moments with Jesus! “Then Jesus said…”

#1 “Lazarus Come Forth”

Jesus raises his friend, Lazarus, from the dead. Jesus can do anything. He is good. Remember it is NEVER too late. Jesus can bring your dreams, hopes, and relationships back to life. Never give up hope. Jesus brings life. (John 11:43)

#2 “but My Words will never pass away”

Wow. Heaven and Earth will pass away, but not Jesus’ words. You can depend on what Jesus says. He says what He will do, and He will do what He says. Jesus does not exaggerate. In other words, you can take this to the bank. (Matt. 24:35)

#3 “I will make you fishers of men”

I love that Jesus can take your talents, passions, and gifts, then transform them into Kingdom impact. He allows me and you to partner with Him to make the world better! Whatever you are wired to do, Jesus can use. I guess I am a “kingdom engineer”… snort. (Mark 1:17)

#4 “I am with you always”

There is nothing that can separate you from Jesus. Nothing. You can be going through the hardest situation in life. Jesus is standing beside you. I know it is hard to believe at times. I’ve been there. But He is with you. Always. (Matt 28:20)

#5 “Seek first the Kingdom”

There is no doubt about it. You and I are called to pursue God’s Kingdom in this life. With everything that you have, go for it. Bring peace, love, clarity, correction, and hope everywhere you go… whatever it takes. The Kingdom comes first. (Matt. 6:33)

#6 “Go now and leave your life of sin”

Epic. Everyone wanted to condemn the adulteress woman. Jesus gives her another chance. You and I get hundreds of chances because of Jesus’ grace and mercy. You’re free. Forgiven. Your past can’t stop you. Live this life for Him. Make this life count! (John 8:11)

#7 “Whoever wants to be great, must be a servant”

You were made for something great! Jesus calls us to greatness, but it is through the road of being a servant. Do your best to love and serve those around you. This phrase continues to transform me. It is hard to live this out every day. (Mark 10:43)

#8 “Go make disciples of all nations”

Anytime I feel like I don’t know where I am going in life, I remember this phrase. This is what you and I are made to do. Reach others. Share love. Facilitate in the transformation of lives around you. One day at a time. Invest in others. Jesus still changes lives. (Matt. 28:19)

#9 “Father, forgive them”

This phrase blows my mind every time I read it. Jesus forgives the people that are torturing Him. I can’t believe it! It reminds me that I am forgiven. It also reminds me to forgive others. All the hurtful words. Deceitful actions. Broken promises. Forgive. (Luke 23:34)

#10 “God loves the world, so He sent His only Son”

God loves the entire world. Every person. He sent Jesus to the world to rescue mankind from our own destructive lifestyles. Jesus paid it all. What can I say? Even through the trials of life, you and I have hope. You will be OK. Jesus has come. He has set restoration in motion. For us all. (John 3:16)
